Short links are for everyone. GoTo.now is committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability.

Standards we target

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. Ongoing work includes:

  • Semantic HTML landmarks and heading structure on every page
  • A visible keyboard focus indicator and full keyboard operability
  • A skip-to-content link on all pages
  • Sufficient color contrast in both text and interactive elements
  • Alternative text for informative images, and text pairing for every QR code
  • Forms with programmatically associated labels and clear error messaging

The product itself helps you publish more accessible links: readable custom back-halves are announceable by screen readers and typable by anyone, and we recommend always printing the short URL text next to a QR code so no one is excluded by a camera-only pathway.

Known limitations

Some older blog images may lack descriptive alternative text; we are fixing these as pages are revised.

What a useful report looks like

The page URL, what you were trying to do, and the assistive tech in play (e.g. VoiceOver + Safari). One sentence each is enough - You don't owe us a formal audit to be taken seriously.

Our testing habit

Keyboard-only passes on every new template. Contrast checks against WCAG AA. Screen-reader spot checks on the busiest flows: shorten, QR download, dashboard.

The standards, in plain words

WCAG 2.1 AA is the target. In practice that means: everything works without a mouse. Text keeps strong contrast. Images explain themselves. Forms say what went wrong, in words. Motion stays gentle. The rules exist so no visitor needs luck to use the site. We test for them. We fix misses fast. And we treat every report as a bug, not a favor.

Shortcuts that help right now

A skip-to-content link sits at the top of every page. All menus work by keyboard. Focus rings are always visible. Every QR code we suggest pairing with its written link - So no one is locked out by a camera-only path.
