Managing links

Change a link's destination

This is GoTo.now's superpower: the short link stays the same while the place it points to changes.

Redirect somewhere new in three clicks

  1. Open Links in your dashboard.
  2. Click the ✏️ pencil on the link's row.
  3. Enter the new destination URL and confirm.

Every copy of the link that exists anywhere - In old posts, printed QR codes, email signatures - Instantly redirects to the new destination. Nothing needs to be reshared or reprinted.

Common uses

  • Pointing a bio link at this week's campaign.
  • Fixing a typo'd destination after a print run.
  • Moving traffic when a landing page is rebuilt.

Why this matters more than it sounds

Think about a QR code on 5,000 printed menus. Without an editable link, one dead page means reprinting all of them. With a goto.now link behind the code, you edit the destination once and every menu updates itself - The ink never has to change. That's why QR codes stay editable after printing.

A pro tip for planners: create the short link before the final page exists. Point it at your homepage for now, put the link in your designs and emails, and swap the destination the day the real page goes live. Your click stats carry through the change too, since it's the same link the whole time - You'll see the full history in one private chart, not split across two links. And because links never expire, you can keep reusing the same one season after season.
