Managing links

Remove a link from your dashboard

The 🗑 button on a link's row removes it from your dashboard list. It's a tidying tool, and it helps to know exactly what it does - And doesn't - Do before you use it.

What removal actually does

Two things to know:

  • The short link itself keeps redirecting. Removal is about decluttering your dashboard, not killing the link - Links that are already shared keep working so you never break something by accident.
  • Removal can't be undone, but you can always find the destination again with the link checker if you kept the short URL.

Before you press the trash button

Copy the short URL somewhere safe first - A note, a spreadsheet, anywhere. Since removal is permanent for your dashboard view, that saved URL is your only way to look the link up later. Ten seconds of copying beats trying to remember a random code next month.

When decluttering makes sense

Good candidates for removal are test links you made while learning, links for events that already happened, and duplicates from experiments. Keeping the list short makes your Analytics tab easier to read, because dead-weight links stop crowding out the ones that matter.

If you need a link actually disabled (for example it was created in error and points somewhere sensitive), contact support with the link and we'll handle it. That's the right path when the destination should never be reachable again - Removal alone won't stop the redirect.

Didn't solve it? Contact support - Include the short link in question and we'll take a look.
